Autoruns.exe -
system startup viewer/controller |
Sysinternals' autoruns.exe is a killer little
utility for controlling and tweaking those programs that like to
start up when the computer boots. I was especially impressed with the
amount of information it displays on Microsoft Installed
Components. All you have to do is right click on a HKey listing
and you will be able to do four things: Delete the entry, Copy to
Clipboard, Jump to Registry entry, or Display file properties. The
jump to registry is really cool. No more searching the registry to find an
entry when you want to tweak it or back it up. Best of all the program is
only 40k in size and no installation needed. A few seconds of
download then unzip it and you've got a real startup killer app.
